Ipswich fast becoming Queensland’s premier action destination

Metro Hotel Ipswich International is hoping to capitalise on Ipswich’s growing reputation as the action capital of Queensland to increase its occupancy rate in 2010.

Located just 30 minutes drive from Brisbane and an hour from the Gold Coast, Ipswich is fast becoming the action hub of the region, with activities such as paintball, V8 car racing, ballooning and airboat riding among the many adrenalin-fuelled activities now on offer.

Metro Hotel Ipswich International General Manager Alex van Kersen said Ipswich had become the destination of choice for action-filled corporate team building experiences , as well as for families and couples seeking outdoor fun.
Mr van Kersen said Metro Hotel Ipswich International was hoping to benefit from the increasing attraction of these activities by offering great value accommodation packages, making it attractive for people to stay overnight in the area.
“Ipswich is a beautiful inland city with so much to see and do, it is a shame if people don’t stay at least 24 hours and explore what is on offer,” Mr van Kersen said. “While the drive back to the coast may seem short, it can be long following an action-packed day and staying the night makes the experience so much more relaxed and fulfilling.”
